The Taste of a Place

Rooted in Northern New York

Pierrepont Cider produces naturally fermented ciders using local apples. We forage apples from wild seedling trees in central St. Lawrence County, primarily within the township of Pierrepont.

We source additional fruit from backyard trees and homestead orchards in the greater Canton Potsdam area. If you have old trees, please reach out!

Planting trees

One orchard at a time.

We partner with St. Lawrence Nurseries to graft and propagate cider specific apple varieties as well as promising local seedlings, seeking to identify cold hardy and climate resilient varieties for the uncertain growing seasons ahead.

We explore the full range of apple growing potential from carefully managed orchards to untouched feral fence lines, embracing a diversity of tactics and a spectrum of sources in pursuit of sustainable fruit and consistently excellent cider.
